Since my daughter Cynthia passed away I have been telling her life story to everyone who wants to listen. I always brag when it’s time to talk about my precious princess. Narrating to someone the things Cynthia loved doing, the food she cooked, Oh! talking about food, she
cooked African food, Indian and American food. She was a careful driver; did you know, she would not answer a cell phone when driving? OMG! I really LOVED that about her.
Did I also tell you she was a great artist and poet writer?
Guess what? She could dance, there was a time in Michigan Cynthia created a dance group they were able to dance at weddings and cultural events. I have added a short video of my daughter in a light blue dress dancing with friends, you could see the joy in her eyes and how funny she was. On education my daughter did great with two Master’s degrees. Caregiver? Yes, that was Cynthia, I remember whenever I was sick or hurt emotionally, she was always my counselor and my confidant.
How she loved her siblings, friends, strangers, co-workers and just about anyone she met. She had an artistic creativity that spilled over into everything she did from speaking three unique languages English, French and Spanish. Designing things especially handbags, home decor and painting.
I find joy whenever there’s an opportunity to express her loving memories and being her mother is one of the best gifts she left behind to be her story teller. My daughter still lives in me every second, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years since her passing on October 23rd 2016.
Tell us your story on how you are overcoming GRIEF.
Welcome to my world. Life Changing Moment!
